Chord symbols and text not working

• Aug 1, 2024 - 14:36

I've been trying to use the chord symbols and texts but they're simply not working, they don't show neither sound in the playback. I've tried with the commands and the button on top, I even tried erasing and re installing the app, and modifying the chord symbol format in style, nothing works please help

There are no buttons for chord symbols, so I am thinking you might be using the wrong command. If you continue to have difficulty after using the correct command - select a note or rest, then press Ctrl+K, then type the chord symbol - please attach your score here and give precise steps to reproduce the problem.

Please give us precise steps to reproduce the problem after loading that score. It works for me, but with a quirk I'll discuss below. The steps I followed are:

  1. load the score
  2. click the top note of the whole note chord in measure 1
  3. press Ctrl+K, and observe the cursor that appears above the note
  4. type "Fm7" (without the quotes)
  5. press Esc

Result: the chord is entered exactly as expected. However, the display of the chord is a bit funny, because this score has some unusual style settings (lower case minor chords, extension scaled to be larger than root). Assuming that's something you are doing on purpose, though, all seems well.

If you are following those exact steps and something happens different, please explain in more detail at which step the result deviates from what I described. And ideally upload and link to a screen recording so we can see for ourselves what you are seeing.
