Up or down when entering notes?
How does Musescore decide whether or not to go UP or DOWN in pitch when entering a notes via the keyboard?
Sometimes when I enter a note, the subsequent note goes up in pitch, other times it goes down in pitch. It seem to depend on where the note is in the staff.
How do I force it to go in the direction different than what the default appears to be?
Comments
MuseScore selects the nearest one and there is no way to change that before entering the note.
Changing -after- is just one key stroke though, so it is ok I think.
Example : you need to enter C followed by F below.
MuseScore will select the F above, as it is nearer C, but you can set it one octave below easily :
C F CTRL+DownArrow

Don't you mean Ctrl Arrow-down?

Oops yes of course.
I'll edit my message to avoid further confusion.

"DownArrow" = "Arrow-Down". No difference.
