Deceptive charge to my PayPal
I signed up for the free trial and MuseScore charged me. I received an email from them that says they tried to refund me the money but could not because of the PayPal dispute. PayPal said there was no attempt made to refund the money from MuseScore. Someone is giving me misinformation. PayPal said a dispute does not keep a refund from being processed. It sounds like MuseScore is trying to keep my money that they deceptively took. MuseScore support is no longer responding to my emails and conveniently does not have chat or phone support. Any advice?

No such thing here in musescore.org!

What is this difference? I could have sworn I was linked here from MuseScore.com.

Thank you for clarifying. I'm not sure how I ended up here then.

I don’t remember when the sites got split up. But the thing is that they’re more linked than they ought to be. One account should not be usable on the other.
Upon further reading in this forum it looks like many others have had the same issue. I would imagine there is a connection between the two.

There is, as much as between Yamaha guitars and Yamaha motorcycles

I think that I see the connection equivalence:
• Guitar scores written on software downloaded from musescore.org can be uploaded to musescore.com.
• You can play a Yamaha guitar whilst riding a Yamaha motorcycle, (as long as you are a passenger).

They both look alike, and in the wrong hands, they sound alike too

Ah yes... lol!
Decades ago, I owned a Yamaha motorcycle and a Yamaha guitar. Both sported the same 'tuning forks" logo:
The motorcycle - on the fuel tank; the guitar - on the headstock.
Best performance from each, though, required a different method of "tuning"... :-)

Someone needs to scream at the folks in Kaliningrad once again.
The thing that people don’t mention is that err… anything involving money will benefit the app development, but the business decisions are terrible. Which makes the app look bad. It’s terribly unethical and gross, but I guarantee that someone will find some way to blame you.

Limassol, not Kaliningrad anymore

Well whatever scummy jurisdiction they work in — because they don’t behave as if they’re subject to European law. I have very little personal respect for people who leave high tax European jurisdictions for Russia and then Cyprus (but that registration doesn’t tell me where they’re actually working just fyi; it’s perfectly possible to avoid sanctions in Russia, and quite common!)
I have the exact same issue with MuseScore going on right now. Signed up for what was to be a "free trial" instead they did a bait and switch and immediately charged my PayPal account for $39.99. Were you ever successful at getting your money refunded? There a TONS of people who have experienced this same deceptive treatment from MuseScore. I'm looking for other places to warn people of their deceptive business practices.

There are tons of people not reading the fine print properly...
There's no free trial for $39.99, that's the rebate price if you don't take the free trial

The fine print that’s obscured and which is consistently a dark pattern.
I compared the website’s ethics to a kind of company which either triggered a filter or really made the admins in the announcement forum mad. But it’s that gross.
