Close spacing of notes
How do I override automatic note spacing and group notes closer together? In Finale I use Special Tools - Note Position tool - see the attached graphic. I'm not finding anything equivalent in MuseScore.

You can create more space by dragging notes right. What this actually does is change the leading space (which is in Properties > Appearance).
It seems you can't drag them left to make things closer together than the default, but you can set the leading space to a negative value directly, in the Properties panel.
That may or may not get you to where you want (and is admittedly a bit tedious).

To add to this... you can select multiple notes and edit all their leading space simultaneously in the properties panel.
