How to toggle realize chord symbols on and off
I made a guitar arrangement and clicked on realize chord symbols. Now the synmols play and ruin the arrangement. Clicking on realize chord symbols again does not reverse this.

Directly after an undo would have worked. Too late now I guess, so you'd have to delete the notes
Realize chord symbols actually puts the notes on the staff. The whole point is to make the notes more permanent so you can see and edit the as you see fit. if you have changed your mind and decided you don't actually want those notes on the staff, simply remove them.

That's not true. Chord realization in my experience simply plays the chord symbols. It does not add the notes of the chord to the staff. The only thing you can do is duplicate the staff that has the chords and the remove the chord symbols from the staff that you want to use in your mix. Then you can toggle on and off the relized chords by muting / un muting that channel.

Wrong. You're talking about chord symbol playback, Marc about chord symbol realization

"Realize chord symbols" is a separate command that you access from the menu (right-click context menu, or Tools). This command does add the notes to the staff.
