HIGH PRIORITY: Still cannot export MP3 with Opus sounds

• Feb 21, 2025 - 20:53

I have been asking for a fix on this feature since last fall, and I haven't seen it become available yet. The latest version of MuseScore is great, and the features are wonderful, and it's continually improving.

However, I used to be able to export audio as MP3 with the Opus sounds, and now, since version 4.3 (i think) this feature doesn't work correctly at all. Please follow the dropbox link to listen to the piano sound. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/3nma9g5ilzmkspye6qi3f/PianoExample.mp3?r…

It doesn't export the audio correctly. It cannot be an OPUS problem, because the audio plays back correctly in MuseScore Studio. It has to be a problem in the export feature. Is there any chance this can be addressed and corrected rather quickly? It's been an issue since last fall, and it really prohibits me from getting my music tracks complete in a quick and efficient manner. Thank you

Have you tried any of the other bit or sample rates in the export window? How about as a Wave file or even 9just as a test), midi.

I think it could have something to do with the way the vst interacts with MuseScore. I have little to no experience with how this works, but my guess would be that instead of running inside of MuseScore’s engine, the part of OPUS that processes the actual samples is running as a separate process on your computer.
That’s just a guess though.
