Very long copyright line -- how to fit?
I have read and attempted to use the suggestions in the forum (some date back to 2011 and are likely outdated by newer versions of MuseScore) for copyright information. What if the required copyright line looks like this?
"Copyright © 1945 by Williamson Music, a Division of Rodgers & Hammerstein: an Imagem Company Copyright Renewed International Copyright Secured All Rights Reserved Used by Permission of Hal Leonard Corporation"
Whether using the copyright line in the Score Properties section or the Footer under "Style," it's just too long to fit. I tried separating the copyright info in three parts but they still ran over each other. In other attempts, only part of the copyright info showed.
Thanks.

Thank you! How did you do it? When I open the "Score Properties" box and try to divide the copyright into 2 or 3 lines, anything beyond 1 line disappears.
I also tried creating a "Copyright 2" line for the remainder of the copyright notice, but the text I placed there wouldn't show up.
The "Score Properties" box from your creation doesn't show where it is, or does it?

Create that copyright in another program, like notepad, including the line breaks, then copy/paste it into the copyright field of MuseScore

Thanks, I just tried that using Word Starter 2010. I pasted it into a very long, one-line copyright box, but it doesn't show up at all on the bottom of any page.
I tried doing it as a footer but thought I got rid of that...maybe there's a conflict now. Not sure.
Here's what I'm working on. SheetMusicPlus stipulates the copyright notice for the songs for which it has licenses, so I have to put the whole thing.

I wrote it in: Menu Style -> General -> Header, Footer, Numbers -> Footer Text -> Middle

You had a) removed the $:copyright: from the footer and b) not pasted a multiline copyright into the score properties/copyright field
You could take the multiline copyright from here:
Copyright © 1945 by Williamson Music, a Division of Rodgers & Hammerstein:
an Imagem Company Copyright Renewed International Copyright Secured
All Rights Reserved Used by Permission of Hal Leonard Corporation

So do you have to have a multi-line copyright notice in the "Score Properties" and then do it again in a Footer under "Style?"
I was able to reproduce the copyright for Autumn Leaves by splitting it between pages 1 and 2, but I still can't get the one above (which actually goes to "You'll Never Walk Alone"; I got them mixed up) to appear in its entirety. It will not go past "Rodgers" on the first page for some reason.

(Multiline) copyright string in score properties under "copyright" and then in footer just reference that via "$:copyright:" or "$C"

Well, with your help I'm getting closer...now it at least shows "& Hammerstein."
I have three copyright lines set up in the Score Properties as you suggested, but reproducing them in the Footer seems to be the problem. When I put the "$c" symbol in on three successive lines, I got three reproductions of the first copyright line.
Score uploaded so you can see.

Why 3 time ¢C? Once is enough

I thought to represent the three copyright lines in the Score Properties.
I don't know why the info from the other two copyright lines is not showing.

To be clear:
1) You should leave Style / General / Footer alone. It is already correct in the default templates and will show the complete copyright message no matter how many lines are in it. If you have changed this from the default, set it back (to "$:copyright:").
2) To have a multiple copyright, create it in a separate editor, then select the whole thing - all three lines together - and paste it into the Copyright field of Score Properties. Do not create two new copyright liens in that dialog; they won't have any effect. You need to paste your entire copyright message into the original Copyright box.
Do those two things and it works.
