End key/ home key

I have a score to which I want to append measures, say 40 measures at once. Usually, 40 individual measures are appended. Not now, it looks like a bulk measure with a bar and the number 40. That's fine with me, but if I put the cursor in the "bulk measure" and press N for note input, the cursor moves to the beginning of the score, and pressing the END key brings the view back to the far left so that I have to scroll all the way to the end. Putting the cursor on a note in he measure before the "bulk measure", the pressing HOME key and END key works fine. What is the problem.?
