jazz font?
Hello,
Is there a jazz font available for notation? The only fonts I can see in my linux version (2.02) or a nightly (2.1) are Emmentaler, Gonville and Bravura. When I try to "load style," the musejazz.mss font appears incompatible with my version, and reconciling the version number in that file doesn't seem to fix the issue.
Thanks,
-steve

musejazz.mss is not a font, but a musescore style sheet, that is supposed to set the musical text font to MuseJazz.
If you want a musical jazz font, you'd have to wait for the next major version

Thanks!
However, while there is no jazz font currently for notation, there is for text - MuseJazz. This is the default for all text if you use any of the Jazz templates (lead sheet, combo, or big band). Also, those templates make a number of other style adjustments to attempt to emulate more of a handwritten "jazz" look: winged repeats, thicker lines, etc. So do use one of the Jazz templates if you are going for that look. Or, to use those same settings in another score created from a different template (or from scratch by choosing instruments), create and empty score from a Jazz template, then do Style / Save Style and load the resulting MSS file into your real score.

Hi Marc
I've just tried what I think is the method you have described and nothing happened. Obviously i clicked on "OPEN". Is that the wrong place to choose the MSS file from? Please see attached screenshot

After updating the style file, you need to select any existing text elements and do "Reset Text to Style" (from the Inspector) to get them to pick up the changes. This should be changing for 2.2, I believe.

Thanks for that.

Changing the file to Musejazz affects the aspects Marc describes.
