Is it possible to create a score with no time signature or barlines?

I want to write a scale manual, for my violin pupils, with both music, and diagrams of finger patterns.
I can find no scale manual that does this for violin. Guitars get finger patterns, we don't!
So I want to write the scale out in simple crotchets, with no barlines/time signature.

(Then, if anyone has any suggestions on suitable software/app to draw the finger patterns on as well, and then how to amalgamate the lot into one document that would be grand!)
