how do I split a measure in half so that 16th notes become 8th notes?
Basically I want the song to double in the amount of measures so eigth notes become quarter notes and 16th notes become eight notes. I hope that makes sense.

thanks so much.. well that sucks every time I try to run the pluggin it crashes the software. Is it because maybe I am running 2.1 and the pluggin is 2.0?

No, I never can remember if half time or double time is the one with a bug. Give me a minute to look for the version of the plugin that does not crash.

I don't have a lot of experience using the plugin. If the clef for an instrument is changed, then inserting the proper clef should fix it. All the notes should remain the same.

ok I will keep messing with it. I was able to just change it to bass clef and then had to transpose the octave, but it also added like another staff like you see for piano music but both lines were treble clef and the bottom staff was all rest The top treble staff line was all my bass line.

I was just doing some testing with the plugin that I've never used before and discovered you need to do at most 32 measures and one staff at a time. Select the section of music you are trying to adjust and then copy the new notes to a score you created for the new version of the song.

Ok I got it almost how I want now. Thanks so much... Only thing I noticed it took the staccatos and Ties out. I have went back and added those. And the rehearsal marks. One other question.... the first measure is 1/8th rest a note on the AND of one then 2 8th notes on beat 2.... It has the 8th note on the AND of 1 and the 2 8th notes on beat 2 tied together. I want the 1/8th note on the AND of 1 to be a stand alone 1/8th note as it is part of beat one. I do not want it tied to beat 2. Any idea what is going on with that? That's just one example thru the song. Thanks for all the help.. I hardly ever use this software but I use it to make my bass charts.

I didn't get any tied notes when I ran the plugin on the first 4 measures. As I said, I don't usually use the plugin either. I'm giving you the info based mostly on about 2 years of hearsay. Perhaps someone else will interject with better info than I have.

the correct term is not tied that I used, its called barring. I'm talking about the 1/8th note on the AND of 1 I want it to have a flag not be barred with the 2 8th notes on beat 2.. I probably need to start a new thread :) thanks.

The English word is Beamed! There is a Beam Properites palette that will allow you to change a note at a time. If you want all or most every measure to have a different beaming property then right click the time signature, select Time Signature Properties and adjust the beaming and press OK.
