Audio file not played from Phone
I use Musescore in such a way that I connect my score with a recorded audio file uploaded on youtube. However, I have discovered that when playing my score from a Phone then this audio file is not used but Musescore generate the sound from its own sound library. This gives a dramatically different tune from what was intended. Now, since most users seem to use their Phone to listen to the uploaded works, Musescore is useless for me. Is anyone aware of this problem and how can it be resolved?
Greetings,
Kjell

Can you share a link to a score for which the YouTube playback on mobile is not working anymore?

Seems to work fine here, in the ... menus the Audio source "Liverpool 2" is selected rather than "MuseScore audio".
What browser are you using? Chrome on Android here.

Youtube playback on iOS (Safari) is something we do not currently support (and never did) due to technical limitations of the Youtube API in relations with Webkit on iOS. So it's an unfortunate technical limitation we can't get around for now.

But a lot of people use Safari and Iphone. Wouldn't it be appropriate to have a general information about this? Also, Musescore should of course not choose to play its own instruments if audio file has been chosen. It should give an error message instead, shouldn't it?

As mentioned further up: better bring this up in https://musescore.com/groups/improving-musescore-com

It's showing a message in the audio sources popup that YouTube playback is not working on iOS. We should add this in the online help page at https://help.musescore.com/hc/en-us/articles/209541709-Manage-audio-sou… so that's a thing we can improve right away.
We will be thinking how to improve this on a long term. Perhaps by making it possible to sync with any third party hosted mp3 file.

This is expected behavior for all browsers on iOS, since they all use the same Webkit. So not errorneous, just unwanted :/

As far as I know audio file playing implies Youtube playing. Or is there another way?

Thank you Thomas and Jojo for your help and clarifications although it turns out that the situation is certainly problematic, in particular for me but also for Musescore. In my opinion, I strongly believe that Musescore should remove the audio playing option. I will continue this discussion on recommended place.

After four years this problem is not solved. MuseScore should offer an alternative to YouTube playback, because on iPad I can’t listen to the audio files.

MuseScore doesn't even run on an iPad.
Nor does it provide YouTube playback
Unless you're talking about the musescore.com website, in which case you'd need to complain there, not here on musescore.org
