Work #, version and date
Hi!
What do you recon is best practice for
adding work-number, version-number and date of origin and date of version/print?
I'm making some pieces that, if they thrive, will typically have a lot of revisions,
different orchestrations etc.
For worknumber, they will be part of a larger collection (an opera),
and the numbering in the making
will not reflect order in the opera.
Thanks!

Work Number is an entity in Score Information, as is creation date.
For Version number I'm using the last modified date "$M" in header/footer. Possibly adding "$m" for the time

Yes but it does not update every time I make a correction.
the creation date work fine, but the new version has the same creation date , and not the updated corrected version , so it does not help me to keep order. Thank you

$M does update every time (well, once a day, add $m if you need it once a minute)

As I wrote above, into header and/or footer, see https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/score-properties#header-footer
