WHAT are these? ...
I am referring to the pileup of brackets before the grand staff. (see pdf)
And where did they come from? (Sure... I did something wrong, yes?)
Are they harmful? Do I need erase them? If so, how?
They've infested another score as well.

Square brackets?
I've never seen that.

From https://musescore.org/en/node/276427 ?
Maybe incorrectly dragged?
It would be preferable to attach the score.

Very likely indeed

Good observation, Shoichi and jojo. Likely incorrectly dragged when
I tried to get a bracket over repeatedly, but they turned up on another score, too, one in which there was no call for brackets. (???)
When I deleted them they disappeared one by one as they seemed to simply be brackets piled up. I'll be on the lookout in the future because I'd like to know how I managed this, now being the second time I've blundered into an oddity.
Thanks.

Did you save the other score as a template? That would explain it being passed to other scores if you used that template.

I'm afraid I don't know what a template file is, so if I d i d save as such I owe it to my ten thumbs to have done so accidentally.
When they appeared on another score I noticed them as the score was in progress and promptly had forgotten them until they popped up again in the present score. God knows what I click on. When I first d/l'd MuseScore, I managed to do so w/o a wizard. It was after 9 completed scores that an icon appeared and Musey d/l'd into program files. So...
I'll keep a lookout in future scores.
