Note at the end of measure
I'm a little new to Musescore and was wondering if I could add a note at the end of a measure so it looks like (half measure rest, rest, quarter note.) If anyone can help me that would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much this was very helpful.
How can I prevent the cursor jumping to the next measure when the previous one is complete. The problem is that, say the last note of a measure involves a chord. You enter the first note of this chord and the cursor automatically jumps to the next measure. This is not too much of a problem if the following measure is on the same line, but it becomes tedious if you are filling in a chord on the last note of a measure that is at the end of a score line, or worse, when the score line is at the end of a page. One has to keep returning back to the score on the previous page.

Or deselect the "pan score" button. See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/play-mode
That button recently acquired the functionality to prevent the score from moving in not input mode as well, iirc.

But also note, you don't need to do any of these things just to create a chord. Shift+letter works to add a note to a chord whether the page has panned or not. You can also simply hit the left arrow to cursor back if you want to see what you are doing.
