Bring back dotted/dashed slurs and ties!

• Dec 1, 2018 - 00:26

I annotate SATB pieces for our choir and in the past, I used to be able to create pieces with dotted/dashed slurs and ties. But lately, I noticed that the feature is missing. I thought at first it was because I just couldn't find the feature but from reading other posts it turns out that it no longer exists.

Any chance of a return of this feature? Or would it be better to just install an older version? If the latter is a better option, please let me know which one to install again if I want that feature. Thanks!

Done! These can be changed in the Inspector (press F8 if it's not open) using the Line Type. If you don't have version 2.3.2, then upgrade to get this option.

I believe that on most Macs, in order to use the function keys like F8 with programs you have to also press Fn, otherwise the key does something else.

Since it's likely to come up, I'll also mention that any time you hear someone talk about "right-click", it will be Ctrl+click for you. And when someone who isn't specifically giving instructions for Mac mentions Ctrl, it will be Cmd for you.

To be clear: the feature never went away. It's been in the Inspector for a long time. Perhaps you saw discussion of people wanting different types of dashes than we currently support and that misled you into thinking we didn't support dashes at all, but that's not the case.
