Does explode not work?
I have tried to explode a part, single staff, basically 2 lines.
I have tried it without selecting anything and tried it selecting the whole part, choosing explode but nothing happens.
Am I missing something?

Can you attach a file as an example?
Edit: Explodes, it seems, works from top to bottom. So it is necessary that there is a lower stave in which to carry the notes (but it is likely that I am misunderstanding your question)
I think I ran into a bug at one point I thought was fixed. If the first measure was empty, explode failed.

Here is a part.
I was able to generate it by using "save selection". Otherwise, when I tried to save the part from the part the whole score was saved under the part name.

I added a trombone, I selected the first and used explode. Then I generated the parts.
But is that what you meant?

:) Better, although there are still things to clean up. Thanks.
You added a Trombone? Do I have to add a 2nd Trombone staff first for it to work?

So it seems to me. Otherwise: where do I put the notes 'evicted from'?
(Don't be shocked by the language ;-))

I believe that the function was originally functional to obtain, for example S and A on separate staves instead of SA (Closed SATB)

:)
I assumed it would just make staves as needed.
Thanks.

Nope, it never did. Unlike split staff.
