M3 problem with Continuous View
The staves -- baritone voice at top, then lyrics, then piano grand staff - are scrunched up vertically. See the example jpeg and mscz. The piano treble staff covers up part of the voice staff as well as the lyrics. I modified the default Style to keep things as compact as possible (necessary for this piece) but this is going too far! After all, there is (/are?) oodles of space vertically. And it's a pity, because Continuous View is ideal for entering and editing lyrics, hairpins, slurs etc. which may extend across staff or page boundaries.
I hope it's not hard to fix!
regards, Vic

The is almost no formatting that happens in continuous view. If you are going to enter scores in continuous view, which I what I almost always do, you will need to insert spacers to make it so you can see what you entered. When you're done with continuous view, delete the spacers.

Thanks Mike, I hadn't tried the spacers yet. Or rather I did once in MS2, but I couldn't figure out how to use them. After looking in the handbook, I now I realize that you have to set the spacing value in the Inspector or, more practically, select Edit Element before dragging them. Then they work well enough for the purpose.
I don't want to use Continuous View all that much for transcribing scores because it's easier to avoid errors in Page view. But it has advantages for adding/editing lyrics.

If you choose to switch back and forth between continuous and page view, you can insert the spacer at the beginning of the score and will will affect the entire continuous view but only the first page of the page view score. It is then easy to find any spacers you use so you can delete them when you are done with them.
