Musescore 3 will crash on opening on mac
Hi There
I had installed musescore 3 on my mac and all worked well
I have just updated to the latest release of MuseScore 3 and it opens the front screen and then the last opened screen then just closes.
I have uninstalled and reloaded from scratch but still the same
Any ideas please

It’s the new release that seems to be crashing it! Trying to “Restore previous session” but New Release announcement obscures Start Centre, the it crashes.

If the new release announcement appears, you are most probably not using the latest version. Try download MuseScore using the direct link: https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/releases/download/v3.0.5/MuseSco….
Delete the previous one and install the new one.

Just dowloaded and installed 3.0.5 on OS X 10.9.5 and It is still crashing... :-(

10.9.5? О_о It is not even supposed to work. Did previous versions of MuseScore work correctly? Does it crash if you run the editor by opening any mscz file?

Musescore 2 works perfectly well on 10.9.5 !

There is no version of MuseScore 3.x that can work on 10.9.5 because the programming library no longer supports it. Sorry. You can continue to use version 2, your scores can open in version 3, you just have to go through MusicXML to import a version 3 score.

MuseScore 3 won't work on macOS 10.9. It needs 10.12 at least. Ther's a (slight) change for a MuseScore version for macOS 10.10 and 10.11, see #281472: MuseScore 3 does not run on macOS 10.10 & 10.11 , but there won't be one for 10.9, ever

Downloading from the link works, thanks, and I have a working MS3 again. (I’m on Mac OS 10.14.3.)
Previously I was editing and updating a MS2.3.2 file using the previous version of 3 when the new release announcement came up, causing the crash. I completed the edit using 2.3.2, which I keep for such eventualities.
