moving imported image
Hi dear list!
I'm importing some svg images to my score, is there a way to move the image with the keyboard arrows for finer control? I've been dragging and adjusting the values in properties, but since i have to do this quite a bit, it would greatly help to use the arrows. Is there a way to set this up?
many thanks in advance!

I've never done this so I'll help you with a question. When you select the image, do you get offsets listed in the inspector (F8)? If so, you can use this. You can enter negative number to move farther to the left or up (like -2.00 sp) if these exist.

Hi! thanks for your reply.
Yes I've been able to move the image with the inspector, however I would like to be able to move the image with the arrows of my keyboard, as with lines and other objects, alt+move , shift+move, etc.

Try the edit shortcut (ctrl+e in version 2) I don't remember what it is in version 3, maybe Alt+shift+e. Also, double clicking the image might allow you to move it with the arrows, though I'm concerned both of these methods will resize your image.

Thanks for the suggestion, I tried this, but as you say it resizes the image.

I don't have any other ideas and the handbook says to drag it. The inspector is the best way to move it precisely.

Yes it appears that it's not possible for the moment, thanks anyways!
Use the inspector

Thanks for your reply, I've been able to move the image with the inspector, however not with the keyboard arrows, is this possible?

Probably not.
Up to my very limited knowledge, insert images is intended as an "Inside some frame" into MuseScore (vertical, horizontal, text frames). SO... I guess (just guess) all the image values are related to the main frame values.
You can change it with the Inspector panel, not with the arrow keys.
Here is an example made with MuseScore 3.0.5:

Everything in the Inspector can be controlled with the keyboard as far as I know. Just click in the field and use the keyboard up/down cursor keys to increase/decrease the values.
Did you know?
With the image selected, one can hover the mouse cursor over an Inspector offset (X,Y) value and use the mousewheel to change values. It works nicely - the image can be easily moved left/right or up/down without entering numbers.

Thanks a lot for your data!!!
BTW: Is it the same to any other Inspector box, any other element???

Yes, as a general rule, it works for numerical values.
