MuseScore 3.1.0 Portable AppImage Long Notes Dynamics
Hi, Gang!!!
I donwloaded and tested the last MuseScore 3.1.0 Portable AppImage in my Ubuntu Studio 18.04.2 LTS (64 bit Linux) system.
Of course, the first piece I tested was a piece with a lot of long notes to hear the effect with dynamics.
BUT... I didn't get something new!!!
The dynamics change from a note to the following note, but not INSIDE the note itself!!!
What I missed, here? ??? What I did wrong? ???
I attach the file I used to test it.
Blessings and Greetings from Chile, South America!!!

Did you load the HQ soundfont via Help > Resource manager?

OH!!!
I see.
Does it mean we have to use only that soundfont file? ???

That or any other that does support single note dynamics.
BTW... How to get a "Fade-in" (start from silence to some other level) and a "Fade-out" (from some level to silence) both effects inside just one bar? ???
I'm talking about, let's say, a whole note in the last bar of a piece. I can put an hairpin in that bar but... I cannot put a "ppp" sign into the last part of the bar (because there is only one whole note).
(BTW... "ppp" doesn't mean absolutely silence).

There is an articulation for this, Volume swell "<>", but I don't think it does anything to playback

zero to crescendo.
and the opposite (something to zero) is done in exactly the same way.
Edit:
Umm...
I used the value 1 here in the old habit, because the value of zero means note-off in the MIDI world.
Maybe the value zero works here, I don't know.
but I think: technically, 1 is almost the same as the value 0.

Thought you used it because velocity of 0 means no change rather than no volume to MuseScore. I would be surprised if 0 works.
