Changing the default placement of tremolo

• May 30, 2019 - 15:39

When the tremolo is made by two or three lines, its placement becomes sometimes confusing for someone who wants to read the notes, because it overlaps with other lines. It can be changed manually, but if there are many notes like this, it becomes a very long work. Is there a way to adjust it in general without needing to adjust it case by case?

Until this is fixed, you can:

select the range of notes the need all of the tremolos fixed
Right click one of these tremolos
choose Select>All similar elements in range selection
In the inspector, adjust the Y offset to move the tremolo up or down as needed.

This allows you to adjust several at once. You always have the option of adjusting one at a time in the inspector if this works better in a situation.

@mike320 - Select>All similar elements in range selection
That's useful advice, but having tried it the stems don't lengthen automatically to avoid collision with the tremolo strokes. I can move the tremolo strokes all at once, but getting the stems and their associated beams to lengthen is more difficult.

And that's why this 6-year old issue really does need to be sorted out...

I agree totally that this is a bad issue that is long overdue for a fix. I was just trying to make the workaround a little less tedious. FYI, you can do the same thing with the the stems and make the Length Change field a positive number to lengthen them.
