Voice 2 and 3 fused
Trying to enter a piano piece into Musescore (see the picture). But the quarter note and eighth note which I have encircled keep getting fused automatically (even though they belong to a different 'voice'). I've tried to seperate them by moving one, but they move together.
Any solution to this?

Can you attach here the score (*.mscz) you are having problems with?

To add, you can select the note head but then the staff doesn't follow

Thank you for this, but I keep getting the same problem, as in added file. I've no idea why this is happening. Previously I could move around notes just fine

Not sure what you mean by "fused", they are completely independent. Click any note, change the offset usign the Chord section in the Inspector, and you'll see. But, FWIW, since you want the last two eighths stem down, better to use voice 4 then voice 3.

He was putting the note in edit mode and pressing an arrow. That only adjuts the leading space in the segment and all notes on the same beat respond to this.
You need to enter the notes in separate voices

I did, but they are fused nonetheless

You need to change the offset in the chord. Changing anything else will move all voices.

Select the note, open the inspector (F8) and change the x offset in the chord section to move the selected note left (- number) or right (+ number).

Thank, that works somewhat. Although with another part if a move the quarter note (I've made it red) away from the half note the staff stays on the right side (even though it's facing down)

You mean the stem stays on the right side of the note head. Pressing shift+x changes the head of the note. In this case I had to press it twice (the first changed it from auto to left, the second changed it from left to right). MuseScore had moved the head to avoid having it being under the half note head.

Finally I got it
Thank you very much
