writing in "play an octave up"
Hi, version 2.1, I have some notes that I want played by the left hand (piano) but that are up above middle C. I can't find how to write them down in the bass staff and direct that they be played an octave up. Where would that be located?

Look in the lines pallet for the 8va line. Place it above the notes you want played an octave higher.

Got it, thanks.

OK, thanks.
FWIW, as a pianist, I would advise you to simply switch to treble clef for the bottom staff in that passage. Notating bass clef 8va seems awkward and harder to read.

This is a good idea.

Actually, both ways look awkward and hard to read. But with two of you weighing in for switching to treble clef instead of octave up, I think I will switch to the treble clef.
