Adding new bars
I'm trying to create a score and im on a new page, but when my notes reach the end of the measure it doesnt add a new bar. It just replaces the last note with whatever I pressed. I dont know the technical term for the bars I think they're called systemic barlines? Anyway, I don't know how to add a new bar, help!

that seems to only allow me to lengthen the measure, what im looking for is how to add a new one of those rows. Which is why I said "bars" I want to add a whole new one of These:

if you press ctrl+b you will add a measure to the end of your score. If you press shift+alft+b you will get a window that allows you to specify the number of measures to add to the end of your score. That's what it says (along with mac keystrokes) at the link shoichi posted.

yeah I know, but I want to add a whole new empty row, not column. A column would be the measure you add to the end to lengthen the score. I want to add a whole new row where you could, for example, add measures onto it.

While you're entering notes into MuseScore I advise that you not usually get concerned with format. Having said that, to start a new system, select something in the last measure you want on the current system and press the return key on the alphabetic keyboard and all of the following measures will move to the next system. If you want to get rid of a system break, select the measure with the system break and press return.

Thank you so much! I pressed the enter key before I added a new measure and it created a new system! or "bar" as I had said. Now I can finish making my song!

Bar (GB) = Measure (US) that's a big reason there is a translation for MuseScore into British English.
