When I go to the measure properties of one measure, it automatically selects multiple measures.
I click on 1 measure, then right-click to go to measure properties but when I click measure properties, it automatically selects multiple measures. How do I change this?
An example is that I wanted to add 1 measure but it added a measure to every staff (shown in attachment)

You are on a director score so, of course, if you change something in a measure, it changes for all the measures of the same "vertical"

how do i change that?

You can't. If you want to move all of the notes on only one instrument, you must select them then cut and paste them.

By having just one instrument, just one staff per system

But I've been working this same score all day and it was working fine. Now, it's selecting everything. I figured I must have clicked something to make it do that. Will it work if I'm using a Grand Staff?

You seem to have added several pianos, all playing at the same time. I guess you want just one and all the music in sequence rather than at the same time.

You are mistaken about what you've been doing in the past. What you do to one measure is done to that measure for every instrument.

I'm only using a piano

No, you are not, that Screenshot shows at least 4

I was trying to add more measures. I thought I was supposed to go to Instruments>piano>add?

or maybe it's staffs, whichever one allows you to lengthen the song.

Append measures to the end of the score (shift+alt+b allows you to append multiple measures). Add instruments makes a mess as you can see. When you have the last measure you want on a system (line) select something in that measure and press the return on your alphabetic keyboard to start a new line (like a word processor).

To add more pianos:
Use menu item: Instruments -> piano -> add
Now you will have multiple pianos playing at the same time.
To lengthen the song:
Use menu item: Add -> Measures -> Append Measures and then enter a number.
Now you will have additional measures added to the end of the piano staff.
