Piano: display "count" below each note
I have a new piano student who is learning to count. I created a simple (one staff) melody in 4/4 and would like MuseScore to display the count\beats associated with each note, below the note. For example, display "1 & a 2 3 4; 1 2 3 4", etc, below the appropriate note. How can this be done in MuseScore 3?
TIA,
fingers

MuseScore doesn't have a count displayer, but using the "Staff Text" tool, ctrl-T (cmd-T Mac), you can put any number of texts you want above or below any note or rest, and move them around with the mouse.

Too bad the feature is missing (music teachers would love it) -- but your suggestion is sterling. Thanks, fingers.

Lyrics might be a good choice for entering beat counts since each one is on a note. Ctrl+L to enter lyrics and space to move to the next note rather than needing to use other methods for adding multiple lyrics.

Wow! That's a terrific insight!

An excellent idea. I'll give it a try!

Another possibility is to use chord symbols, which have a special shortcut ";" to move to the next beat, also Ctrl+4 to move by eighth note, Ctrl+3 to move by sixteenth, etc. That allowing the element to be placed directly on the right beat. Unfortunately, it seems the "&" won't be interpreted correct. I think when my new RNA and Nashville notate features appear - hopefully with 3.3 - either of those would work better.

Good idea (but I will keep an eye out for your Nashville notation in 3.3!)
