Create tie for the lyrics.

Never seen this. Is this the same as tie in the note? Is there a way to input the tie in the lyrics.

Add a slur

Fair suggestion - but it doesn't seem to quite work as shown! - the lowers the lyrics... drag the slur anchor close to the lyrics and the lyrics are repelled.
Ideally, it would be preferable to place a "saggy" slur just underneath the lyrics.

A simple slur anchored to the notes.
As an inspector I unchecked 'Automatic placement' and selected it from the drop-down list:
When you are in lyric input mode (Ctrl+L) press F2 if you want to add the synalepha.
