3.3B - Crazy falsely repeating note?
OS: macOS 10.14, Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.3.0.23559, revision: f94c273
Can you tell me why the red note in m. 19 repeats? We've seen this before, but here is a reproducible test case; I've looked at the score in the piano roll editor, and do not see what I hear.

Even if using a different sound? Those Ohhs and Ahhs are not very good at this

Haven't tried, but those choristers are paid to be good at this, and it doesn't happen on other notes.

OK, if you payed choristers for creating those sounds you'd better claim back your money ;-)

I reproduced the exact same notes typing them fresh at the end of the score. I tried the same with a suspended Bb and a suspended D. The newly-entered suspended C5 fails repeatably. In all seriousness, this is pretty bad -- I asked for a half note and got two quarter notes. This should be figured out. I've surely had tied choral C's before ; it is a property of this brand-new score. Playing incorrect notes is a serious failure, no? Can you duplicate it in that score? (upd version with tests at end appended).

I don't hear a diffenence there between the beta (or rather a selfbuilt) and 3.2.3, Maybe a very tiny one, maybe, with lots of imagination. And not even without the tie. Could be my poor sound kit (small speakers attached to screen) or my poor ears...

I don't hear anything except a slight "chorus" effect to the note, not a whole new attack, just a natural variation in the timbre. Maybe that's right at the loop point for the sample.

Very curious. I'll try some other MuseScore images I have. I may make an MP3.

HQ soundfont?
In reply to HQ soundfont? by Jojo-Schmitz
Sorry, what is that and how to I obtain it or try it?

It's a soundfont we provide with some improved samples (mostly in strings I believe), get it via Help / Resource Manager.

3.2.3 is doing the same thing. Attached is an absolutely minimal test case. I wonder if it is an effect of the Mac OS patches I loaded yesterday. Both notes fail.

Here is a WaV file (1.5 meg) of the last 3-bar score, zipped. It is clearly audible, so it is not a Mac synthesis problem. Do you hear it (this was rendered with 3.2.3 on the above file, by the way): OS: macOS 10.14, Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.2.3.22971, revision: d2d863f

I don't here it there either (or not different to what I hear from MuseScore istelf)

That's very odd. My ears are surely declining with the years, but I'm not imagining it.

I'm listening to it and also examining the waveform in Audacity. It still seems to me exactly as I said before - a slight pulsation in the sound, but no evidence that it really playing the note a second time.

Thank you for going to that length.

Somewhat better with HQ. Is there a way to positively identify which soundfont contains the patch i am using? No other patch but "Choir Aaahs" has this problem as far as I can tell.

If you have one soundfont loaded only, it is easy to tell. else you need to see whetjher it is the 1st Choir Aaahs orthe 2nd or the 3rd... in Mixer and that look at the soundfont list in syntehesizer

This does not happen any more. I feel like I'm in the movie 'Gaslight'.....
