Add->Append Vertical Frame;
Right click the frame->add text.
Or Add->Append Text Frame (https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/frames#text )

I prefer the text frame for that, it sizes as needed

For my texts in columns the alternative is easier (and habits are hard to change).
