hide rests
I'm ready to print a copy of my score to use, but I don't know how to hide a series of whole rests which get in the way. They are a result of having to write in parts to separate the melody from the chords in the right hand of the piano. The rests are in the left hand, because there's only one part for that hand

You made the (common) mistake of using voice 2 in the 2nd staff, always start with voice 1, which is the one and only mandatory voice in any staff, see https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/voices.
Here you can select the section and swap voices 1-2, then delete those excess rests, which are now in voice 2

That makes sense, great. Yes, I fixed it , thank you Jojo!
Actually it's not quite ready to print or use, I have to put in the thirds and ninths etc in the right hand after the first line. But that's straightforward
Hiding stuff is done by selecting it and either press the "make invisible" button in the inspector, or remove the tickmark before "visisble" in the inspector; or by pressing the shortcut V
It'll remain in light grey on your screen, so you can still interact with it; but won't show up when exporting/printing a score.

Possible here too, but actually not really needed, once entered the right way
