cue notes and variable length measures
There is probably a way to enter cue notes, but I can't find it.
Can MuseScore notate cue notes without stems....just a solid or open hole note head?
There might also be a way to notate variable length measures without using time signature changes to establish the number of beats in each measure.
I sing in a Compline group (chant) and the director is looking for an alternative to Sibelius for notating his 4 part chant arrangements. I said I would ask you guys what MuseScore has got. MuseScore works great for my own projects.
Thanks,
Anne Callaway

Thanks. I forwarded your reply on to my director. He sounded pleased when I told him what I have learned.
There are plenty of tools to allow for notating change in version 3.
https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/staff-part-properties explains how you can suppress things like time signatures and barlines if your need to
https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/note-input-modes#timewise is instructions for using the insert mode that inserts notes into the measure rather than keeping the measure a set length
Under https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/layout-and-formatting#style-score Display note values across measure boundaries allows for flexibility in ignoring barlines when appropriate. It's marked experimental, but I've never heard of it not working.
There are other things, like the capability to have stemless notes and notes you normally see in early music like longas. The community is here to help with the transition.
