Session Directory?
HELP! I accidentally discarded my work and now i can't find it anywhere, let alone even find what the Session Directory is!
Every X minutes during a session (the time period is customizable in Preferences—default is 2 minutes), and when you close MuseScore, all open files will be auto-saved to the session directory. Browse this directory to locate a backup of your file. Each file will have an auto-generated name, "sc*.mscz"— sorting the list by modification time may help you to find the file more quickly.
I have tried all these and the paragraphs below it but i am still getting nowhere!

I have tried everything on the page 'How to recover a backup copy of a score' but it doesn't work.
the pice i am trying to recover was only created today, if that helps.
What would i do if i Revert to factory settings?

Reverting to factory settings won't help in recovering a backup score, the handbook page just describes where the autosave file might be

Where on musescore can you see it?

File > Open and there drill down to the session directory
If you deleted your file, I don't think you'll find anything useful in the session folder. Instead, simply check your Recycle bin (Windows) or Trash (macOS) or whatever the equivalent might be in Linux.
