Writing tablature for mandolin
Hi.
New here. I'm transcribing some arrangements into mandolin tab and there are a few things i can't figure out.
-
is there a way to add a style to just a section of a staff? I have a few bars that need to swing a bit then revert back to the standard style.

One of the notes in a three-note chord in the STAFF is the G corresponding to the mandolin's lowest note: the open 4th string. However, the TAB doesn't show it, displaying only two of the three notes, and the lowest note shown (4th string, 4th fret or B) is in red. These aren't out of the range of the instrument, so what's going on here?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim

"Swing" style for single instrument: You can add as staff-text and set the "Swing settings" with right click menu of Staff text properties.
for 2.: you better send your file. for me all the possible notes are black
Thanks for the replies. Here's a screenshot of the score with the red problem note in the tab.

Well, it wasn't originally written for mandolin. So, how do you want to play on the same 4th string in a chord a G and B (both on the same string). That's not possible. Change for example the B in the upper octave, and the problem will be solved.

Thanks cadiz1. I'd just noticed that, fixed it and came back to say 'never mind' when I saw your post. Man, you guys are quick...
