Missing files after upgrade.
I'm missing older Musescore files( probably 1.3) after upgrade to version 3
I've done file searches using .mscz as search and only newer files show up.
Is this a known issue?

It is not.
All MuseScore major versions use a separate directory within your user/home directory for their scores by default. Upgrading never touches those user directories.
MuseScore updates never ever delete scores.
Updating MuseScore never in any way touches any of your files. Files created in MuseSciore 1.3 by default would have been created in a folder called "MuseScore" by default I think (been too long for me to remember for sure), and by default MuseScore 3 looks in MuseScore3/Scores. So you might need to simply navigate to the old MuseScore folder. Or if you saved your files somewhere else, you'll need to remember where, or broaden your search parameters. But again, an update never ever ever touches any of your own files, so I promise they are exactly where they were, wherever that is. So keep looking and you will find them.

I don't think MuseScore 1.x created any folder, but scores by default went straight into My Documents or into whatever you set Preferences > General > Working Directory to
Okay. Maybe it was Mac OS upgrade but it's odd how newer Musescore files are on the Harddrive but not
older files from several years ago.

It's possible they are on another partition or otherwise somewhere outside the scope of where you had been looking When was the last time you accessed those files, and what folder did you believe they were in at the time?
