adding cue notes
Is it possible to add cue notes? If yes, how do I do that? If no, I definitely would like that feature as I write arrangements for a small orchestra and it would be very helpful.

You have to do it manually. See https://musescore.org/en/node/46231
Just found this:

Hopefully it happens. This Howto method is okay, but entering/formatting the initial text and adding measure rests in layer 2 can turn minutes into hours when dealing with a large score.

You mean #279516: Dynamically linked cues, automatic cue creation
The howto method didn't work for me: I would like to add cues from a treble clef instrument on a drum track, but I can't even do the clef change.
With regard to dynamically linked cues – I agree that would be great. But even a better support for manual cue creation would suit me. The main issues I'm facing is the loss of real full-measure rests in bars with cue notes, cues appearing (and playing back) in the score, and clef change issues (see above).

You won't be able to do cue notes using this method between pitched and unpitched staves, indeed. Probably the best workaround would be to use the image capture tool in those cases? Aside from that one case, though, it should work, I've done this many times. You can have the full measure rests by moving the cues to another voice, and if you din't want the cues to appear in the score, you can mark them invisible and silent.

How do I do full-measure rests? I only get a regular rest, which is left-aligned.
(Thanks for the suggestion. I think I will resort to image capture for the unpitched staff, indeed.)

Select the bar, press delete.

That will delete the cue notes, though?

This is a snapshot from the score. The rests are left-aligned, but should be centre-aligned.

If you leave voice 1 empty but put the cues notes in voice 2, the measures rests that were already in voice 1 remain. But you can also use View / Selection Filter to exclude one voice or the other from what is selected and thus deleted. You can also use Ctrl+Shift+Delete to convert ordinary rests to measure rests. Lots of options.
If you continue to have trouble, please attach your actual score - or an excerpt at least - rather than a picture, and we can assist better.

Thanks. I didn't know about the Ctrl+Shift+Delete method. That worked.
