Transposing Chords
Hi,
Is it possible to transpose the chords in a piece without transposing the notes on the staff?
Example:
I have a tune in D major with the correct chords above the staff. I want to play this with a capo on the second fret, which makes the guitar a tone sharper than concert pitch, so now I need the chords in C major but the dots in D major.

You can't transpose chord symbols only, but there's a workaround (and that came up yesterday too):
First transpose including chord symbols, then transpose back without
For capo, though, you can simply set that in Format / Style / Chord Symbols, then MuseScfore can show you the real and capo chord automatically.
In reply to For capo, though, you can… by Marc Sabatella
Ah, missed that this is about capo
Marc, the chords in brackets are great. So many features to learn in this great program. Jojo, there are times when having 2 sets of chord on one page might just be too cluttered, so I can imagine that your work around might also be useful.
Thank you both for the speedy replies, Rob
