MIDI Input Latency in MuseScore 3
Hello!
I'm currently transcribing the Clarinet Concerto by Mozart, using a MIDI Keyboard for inserting notes. Until yesterday I used Musescore 2 and I had no problems with a mentionable delay between pressing a key and writing a note in the program. But today I updated to MuseScore 3 and it took nearly a second until the notes showed up in my score. When i played faster than Musescore could write, it would add all the notes without rests and all the rests behind, after showing me the spinning rainbow for 2 minutes. I restarted my computer and MuseScore 3, but that didn't help. I opened an empty project and had no delay at all, everything worked just fine. Could it be, that a whole concerto overwhelms MS3? Because MS2 has no problem at all with a big score.
Musescore Version 3.0.1.20439
OS: Mac OS X 10.14.2
Thanks in advance

Identical problem under Win10 10.0.18363.720, Mscore 3.2.4.9788
MIDI Input Latency in MuseScore 3 is too high and makes midi input of notes unusable.
I had considered migration from Finale to Musescore 3, but for midi input I still have to use Finale.
Please do something to reduce midi input latency in MS-3.

There are 2 issues related to this problem.
See https://musescore.org/en/node/280956 and https://musescore.org/en/node/280952

#280956: MIDI input latency over 300ms. and #280952: Score Editing Slow

Let me explain the relation between #280952 and #280956 I see.
"MIDI input slower than expected" and "Score Editing Slow" are both low priority issues, but in combination they can make MIDI-keyboard input unusable.

The relation is that one is a duplicate of the other...

Except #280952: Score Editing Slow is a non-issue - the specific complaint was fixed over a year ago. If you have some specific score and some particular series of operations that you believe illustrates a new as-yet-unknown issue with editing speed, we'd need you to attach your score and give precise steps to reproduce the problem you are perceiving.

I can't reproduce my original problem with unacceptable latency on MIDI input into Musescore 3. I assume the delay was caused by some background process like software update or anti-virus scan.
MIDI input into Musescore 3 shows somewhat more latency than Finale Notepad 2012 on my notebook, but this does not make MIDI input unusable.
Sorry for the confusion I have caused on this thread, I wish I could remove or modify my earlier threads.

I have managed to reproduce my original problem: https://musescore.org/en/node/304118

So nothing to do with MIDI input at all, but with MusicXML import and playback (using an SF3 soundfont)
