Repeat section first measures
Hello to all,
I enjoy using Musescore: it is a great help to me while Learning to play the piano!
I would like an alternate first measure when in a repeated section.
The attached figure displays what I would like to achieve:
First measure (A1) has an alternate (A2);
Second measure (B) is common;
Last two measures(C1) have an alternate (C2);
Thus, the flow would be: A1-B-C1, then A2, B and C2.
Then, the same pattern would apply to the following sections.
Is there a way to achieve this, or should I write the complete part 'in extenso'?
Thanks for you time! Best regards to all.
Albert

Voltas are really designed to affect endings and it gets confusing if you start to place them elsewhere. What about the attached (first line is incorrect, second works as intended)?

Thanks for the reply.
Can't open the file, though using the latest version (2.0.2, f51dc11)
You should write it out. Standard music notation doesn't support alternate beginnings, only alternate endings.

Thanks, Marc,
what about A2 attached at end of C1? is this legitimate music notation?
If not, I'll write it out 'in extenso'.

Sorry, my attachment was from a more recent (beta) version. I have renumbered the file so see if this attachment works, please.

I don't understand the question. I'll just reiterate: voltas are repeat *endings*. The first ending is always right before the end repeat sign; the second edning is always right after. Nothing else makes sense.

Well, forget my question, Marc,
I realize the only way to write it to make sense is to repeat the whole section so there will be no ambiguity.
Regards,
And, again, great software!
