Splitting a melody onto two grouped staves
Hello!
I have a score for vocal ensemble which I'm trying to put into MuseScore. First half of the piece has two voices on one stave, and the second half has three voices on two grouped staves with the same clef. There is this "Brackets" palette that contains the line element I want to use for grouping, but I can't figure out what exactly I should do to get two staves grouped by a line with appropriate numbering of measures after one-staved part of the melody.
There must be a way?

Just add the bracket, extend it to span both staves and use 'hide empty staves'. I don't understand where the measure numbering comes into play there though, that is entirely independant of whether or not using brackets and/or hide empty staves

Oh, thanks a lot, that works fine! I didn't realize that I should add an instrument for that, was trying to group lines of the same stave (hence the concern about numbering). :)
Will the empty staves stay hidden on the print?
