request help with odd time signature issue
In the attached file (an extract from the quintet from Act 2 of Carmen), the vocal parts change (one at a time) from the 6-16 time signature to a 2-8 time signature. The instruments remain in 6-16. My guess is that this is to avoid using duplets in the voice parts, or triplets in the instruments.
Any ideas on the best way to implement this in MuseScore? I know there are several work-arounds for similar issues, but I haven't seen one that really applies here (other than to just use lots of tuplets or triplets).
FYI eventually the voices and instruments re-align, although I didn't include that much of the score in order to keep the file size down.
Thanks,

see whether https://musescore.org/en/handbook/time-signature#local-time-signatures does what you need
There are massive restrictions when using local time signatures: no copying in the whole score, problems when creating parts, very easy corruption of the score, …
Therefore I propose to change the time immediately to 2/8 and to use triplets in the other staves. Here you can switch off the numbers of the triplets and make the time signature invisible.
Thus you get a correct and save score. See attached example.
