Voices (again)

I'm trying to add a voice to a piano score, but only for one measure, is that possible? Doing it for the entire piece is a bit cumbersome. Using version 1.1 on Win7.

My screen shot below shows that I selected the first note in the bar, but selected note entry, then selected voice 2, but the cursor hasn't changed colors.
