space between staves

How can I reduce the space between the staves? Four goes over to the following page. Blah.

There are different answers to this depending on what staves you mean. Attaching the actual score you are having trouble with is helpful. If you mean, the two staves of a single instrument, it's Grand staff distance. If you mean staves for different instruments within a single system, it's Staff distance. But if you mean different systems, then it is system distance - and there are min & max settings so the distance can "float" so that pages with different numbers of systems can nevertheless appear similarly full.

Not sure what you mean by "four goes over to the following page", but I guess maybe you are saying that you are talking about distance between *systems*, and currently you have a page with only three systems and you'd like it to fit four - like maybe you are writing music for an ensermble of three instruments so each system has three staves? Keep in mind that might be because the title frame or bottom page margin or lyrics or something else is taking space and preventing a fourth system from fitting, and the best way to make the fourth system fit would be to simply reduce the overall music size rather than try to squeeze things closer together at the current size. Again, we'd need to see the actual score to understand better.

Yes, but again, the answer depends on those things I said. Music for piano involves both staff distance *and* system distance, and staff size could also be relevant in making things fit better. Without seeing your specific score, it's really impossible to tell you the right thing to do.

New topic. I'm not sure how to 'speak the language', forgive me.
I'd like to add the other verses of the song underneath the composition. I wondered if there was a text box I could use that would take 3 verses of 4 lines each. I'm only putting the first verse under the notes.
As per:
staff and notes
verse 1 only

then remaining verses together. I could transfer to word and do it through snipping tool but I wondered if this facility (text box) would be able at the bottom of the composition.
