Changing time signature, scaling note duration
Hi, I wrote something in 2/2 but now I want to change it to 4/4 such that:
Each new 4/4 bar is comprised of 2 old 2/2 bars.
All note durations are expressed as half of the original note's duration.
What's the best way of doing these 2 transformations?

Depending on the complexity and length of the music, the two ways that come to mind are to export to MIDI and make your edit there then re-import, or simply re-eenter the music directly in MuseScore. There is currently no way to perform transformations like this directly, although it does come up as a request periodically.

Is there a way of doing this currently? I'm guessing maybe this feature was created within the past 5 years.

Unfortunately not. It's more complex than it appears at first, to handle all the cases that could arise in terms of tuplets, ties, etc.

No, it hasn't, not directly at least, but there are plugins that may help with this, see https://musescore.org/en/node/81641#comment-453686

I'll just do it manually, it's not that bad.
Thank you!
