change from treble clef to vocal tenor clef

• Feb 22, 2012 - 19:05

I'd like to change the clef on a vocal score from normal treble clef to vocal tenor clef (i.e. a treble clef with an 8 below it to indicate notes one octave lower) and to have the pitches appropriately transposed one octave lower at the same time (to be correct for a tenor voice). So in the example attached, I want to go from the top staff to the bottom staff.

If I simply change the clef on the top staff, the pitches remain the same, and are represented by jumping everything up one octave. I've tried changing the "Play Transposition" property on the Staff Properties settings as well. If I play around enough between the Play Transposition setting and the clef, I eventually get what I want, but there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it and I just happen to stumble upon the desired result. musescore has even crashed while I've been changing these settings back and forth to try to get the desired result.

Does anyone have an appropriate solution to this problem? I'm using musescore 1.1 on Win 7.

Thanks!
