How to Notate
I am struggling with the two below listed issues:
1. How to group and articulate 4 Eighth notes under one continuous beam equal to a value of a Half note
( It only shows as two separate group of Eighth notes; However, grouping of Sixteenth notes is not a problem!)
2. Notating simultaneous playing of Notes of different values
( Example: Play a 'Whole note and simultaneously play 4 different quarter notes within that time)
My Operating System is : Linux mint 17.1

Your advice was greatly helpful! appreciate it much!
Also the section on time signatures. In 4/4, it is normal to beam eighths in groups of four, and that should already be happening by default. In other time signatures, however, this is not necessarily correct, as or at least other methods are more common.

I would have hardly ever' right clicked' on the Time signature and see the roll down menu.
Received a number of support advice on the forum. Thanks much to all!
