Fretboard diagram (fret number)

In transcribing some guitar fretboard diagrams, I came across a number that had an arrow pointing to a particular fret to signify that the fret would be equivalent to the number given. Musescore gives the ability to set the first fret to be 2-25, so in order to transcribe this using the basic functionality and keep the finger positions, I had to do a simple computation. This is no problem, and I actually prefer Musescore's way of having the number be set to the first fret on the diagram rather than somewhere down the neck.

Question: Does anyone know if this is a normal way of drawing diagrams?

This is from some sheets that aren't necessarily modern: the copyright was renewed in the early 1970's.

If it's standard, maybe this could be an implemented feature of diagramming in the future? On second thought, you can rather easily add a left arrow to a staff text to achieve the same result, so it's not really needed.

Second Question: Can the number on a fretboard diagram denoting the neck position be font-specified? I do not see a fretboard diagram text style, though there are some parameters in the General Style section.
