Increasing the distance between staves/voices
I am a bit of a perfectionist and I would like my music to look uniform throughout.
I have some 4 part harmony music; two voices on treble and two on bass clefs. However, there is a refrain which means that when the lyrics are only one line, the distances between the two staves is reduced. Is there anyway to increase the size of only the refrain staves so that they match with the 4/5 verses?
Thanks

You can use a spacer. See Break or spacer

Thanks for that. However, I dont think this is what I was after.
The four voices are split into two staves, but when the refrain/chorus comes in as one line, the next staves are closer together and I would like to increase the size to equal the distance of the verses where there are 4 or 5 lines.

Yes you use the spacer for that - it's purpose is for custom spacing staves on an individual basis.
Drag the spacer tool in between the two staves you wish to alter - you can then adjust it's vertical height to suit.
OTOH if you drag it between systems you can adjust that space.
Hope I'm being clear here :)
If not say and I'll cobble something together on ScreenR for you.
