Stem height for a separated voice is crazy
I did check for this in the handbook and forums.
I downloaded a midi file from the internet, then opened it here. It has 5 voices. I picked out one and saved it separately.
When I opened it, the stem height for every joined note goes either all the way up the "sheet of music" or all the way down. This happened with both slurs and beams. Further, some of the beams go across the screen to the next sheet.
I could not find a setting to change, and it seems beyond belief that there could be a setting value to lengthen beams and stems that much.
I tried to attach a jpeg of the window.
I am using Mac OS X 10.6.8 and MScore 1.2 5470.

Try to select all (Ctrl + A) and go to the beam palette -> double click "A". If it doesn't work, please post a link to the MIDI file or the MSCZ file.

I did try that. The beams changed, but did not become any better. I will post the original midi file and the single part that is messed up.

The score has become corrupted somehow, but I can't find it.
I was able to rectify the problem by:-
1. Selecting all (CTRL+A)
2. Double clicking the "No Beam" icon
3. Selecting all again
4. Double clicking the "Automatic Beams" icon.
Fixed score attached.

Thank you for the fixed score. That will teach me to read, btw. I did not double-click at first :)
Thank you for the fixed score, and the solution.
Edited after I figured out how the mac version works, duh.
That's not normal' beams normally connect correctly. Looks like a bug caused the beams to get off. Trying to import MIDI files is fraught with problems, but this shouldn't really be one of them, so as mentioned, posting the actual MIDI file would help. If the bug still exists in 2.0, then a bug report should be submitted.

I am using 1.2. I looked for a version 2 but only saw 1 (for Mac) on the downloads page. Is there a new version someplace?

2.0 is the next version that will be released, some time in the future. But you can install experimental nightly builds to check it out and verify if bugs still exist before submitting reports - see http://prereleases.musescore.org/. But I don't know if you'd really want to do that yourself yet - once you post the MIDI, then someone who already has it installed could check for you.

If you scroll down a bit on the download page you'll see it
