Can't chose the beat I want to enter a note
Hi everyone,
There is a little issue when I'm writing my score. When I chose the notes mode, I cannot select the beat on wich I want to ad a note. It only allows me to go on beat one of each bar :/ Strangely it happens only on the vocal staff, not on the guitar.
Did anyone experienced this problem before.
Thanks :)

Can you share the score?
Which version of MuseScore, what OS?
You cannot just insert a note anywhere in a bar. You have to "fill" the time up to the place you want the note first, either with rests or notes.
Also you have to select the duration of the note you want to place.
Just like entering words =into a word processor, you enter notes into MuseScore left to right. Music notation doesn't have a way of starting on beat 3 - we read left to right, so the only way to have a note on beat 3 is to first have something (ie, rests) on beats 1 & 2). So simply enter the rest(s) first, then you can enter the notes. Left to right, just like you read music.

Thanks for the answer guys,
my explanation wasn't clear, sorry about that. I know what you said about having to fill a rest or split an existing note.
What is happening is on only one of my score, I can only write a note on the beat one of each bar (see picture bellow).
Even if I have a rest on another beat or a 4th note to split, it forces me yo go on beat one.
I must have changed a setting somewhere :/
And the weird thing is only on this problematic score when I'm in note mode, it shows all the lines of the staff in blue
An exeample speaks louder than words :)

As mentioned above it would be helpful if you could attache the score.
(scroll down in your reponse, click on "file attachments" and attach the file you've trouble with)

Btw. another suggestion: Be sure that you've selected in the toolbar the same voice as the other notes for note input.

The bar must contain rests or notes in the SAME voice you are using. It matters not if there are other voices with notes in the bar.

I can't see your image. As mentioned, attachign the actual score would be more useful. And then list the precise steps you are following, so we can advise on what you should be doing instead, or see if in fact your score is corrupt somehow.
